The US Department of Defense, through its Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), has launched a university accelerator program aimed at nurturing early-stage tech startups spun out of US universities. Modeled after Y Combinator, this 12-week initiative will provide funding, mentorship, and Department of Defense connections to 15 selected teams working in sectors such as AI, cybersecurity, and space. The teams will collectively share $500,000.
